Infertility & Adoption Coaching

I know first hand the hardships, frustrations and fears that come with not being able to get pregnant and/or going through a difficult adoption process. Basil body, ovulation sticks, IUI, Clomid, in vitro, dossier, home studies, authentication stamps, etc., can all be exhausting and overwhelming not only for your body but for your mind, your heart and your relationship. When a couple decides to become parents, it is an exciting and possibly scary time but when the realization that it is going to be harder than they planned or not possible on their own, fear takes on a whole different meaning. I work with my clients to help them stay grounded during this frustrating time that is filled with wait and uncertainty. I coach you on how to stay connected to your partner and not let the stress infect the relationship. The process of assisted pregnancy or adoption is something to be sure you both are on the same page with regarding what you are willing/wanting to do, what you as a family can afford and how you will process any possible disappointments. It is not uncommon for desperation to kick in and being clear what limits you have set ahead of time will protect the core of who you are as a couple and what you are ready for in the process.

“IT HURTS BECAUSE IT MATTERS.” ~ John Green

I support you in setting up a plan to manage disappointments and setbacks and keeping communication open through healthy dialogue on how each individual is coping. Another aspect that gets thrown into the fear and grief is all of the well-intended but highly annoying comments from people who have it all figured out. “If you just stop trying, you will end up pregnant”, “you just need to relax”, “how will you know if your adopted child is healthy”, “are you scared you won’t love an adopted child like your own”, “it’s in God’s hands, if it is meant to be, it will be”, “just pray about it” and my all-time favorite…..”if you don’t get a baby, you can babysit mine all you want”!!! I am a survivor of years of infertility, assisted pregnancy and 2 failed adoptions. I know the heartache and I know the healing.

I not only bring my personal experience to the table, I have many years of experience working with clients with healthy communication, boundary setting, and effective coping strategies. We will work as a team to help you plan what path is the best fit for you, how to manage setbacks and obstacles that arise, and prepare you for the outcome that will be in your future.
